My name is Orrin Parrott and I am now 17 years old. In June of 2007 I was out working on our farm when I was hit by a car. I suffered a severely broken leg and an internal decapitation. They described an internal decapitation to me as being similar to a bobble head and had no connection of my head to my body other than a few muscles and tendons. If my head had moved just a few centimeters, either way I could have been killed. When I landed the carhartt hood rolled up under my neck and cushioned my fall. When my family told me the carhartt saved my life all I wanted to do was thank carhartt.
Thank you,
Orrin Parrott

“Carhartt Tough Experience”
“The pants and jackets that have never let me down”. I use my Carhartt duck cottons almost everyday, work or play. They shed cheat grass and sage like no other and will stay dry even if you are hiking through knee high snow drifts. They have saved me multiple times, grinding disks have shattered into my shins and they never pierced the second layer. They have prevented and protect my skin when I am welding from burning slag. The jackets keep me warm when hunting and comfortable when working. I have even used my Carhartt hooded jacket to lift my brother off a ledge when he fell and tore his leg up. I couldn’t get down to him because the ledge was too small, so I gave him one arm and pulled on the other to help him back up to the ridge line. We didn’t have a rope but luckily that jacket held together. I have tried other supposable tough work wear and nothing outlasts or outperforms like Carhartt.

“Favorite Piece of Equipment”
In the 90’s, my husband received his first Carhartt jacket. That new jacket was put to work on our small acreage. There were tractors to fix, fences to mend and camping trips to take. Through many projects, my husband was warm and protected.
Then came the move and we left the farm behind. Gone was the acreage, the farm equipment, the animals, but not the Carhartt. There was landscaping to complete and a pool to install. That Carhartt went along on our 20 state vacation across America. Today, that Carhartt is worn to fix our son’s truck, for trips into the desert and to work on an old jeep.
That Carhartt jacket has acquired character and faded over the years, but it is still as rugged and well made as the day it was bought. It has its own history and is my husband’s “Favorite Piece of Equipment”.
